Joy has recently transitioned into the role of Principal Broker of Harris & Associates, Inc. Mary Va. (former broker) remains active in the Company as the owner and Joy knows she is just a phone call away, if needed. However, “it is great to see Mom taking time for herself and looking so relaxed,” she says. “Raised in a "Real Estate Family," Joy held her first open house in high school for her parents, the owners of Harris & Associates, Inc. Joy graduated with a degree in nursing and worked as an RN for several years before joining the company as a new Realtor in the Spring of 1998. When the market fell in 2009, Joy began working successfully with investors who were able to pick up properties for pennies on the dollar. She was able to find deals for her clients and assist them in building a real estate portfolio. Her strong base of loyal repeat customers is the reason Joy has been successful in this competitive sales environment. In 2011, after only two short years of working with investors purchasing foreclosure properties, the opportunity became available to move over to the Seller side of the foreclosure transaction. Now, just shy of 8 years later, Joy, along with her team of 5 agents, has moved to the top of the REO field in their area by successfully managing properties for HUD and Fannie Mae in the Tri-Cities area and surrounding counties. To work with the REO companies, Joy says that attention to detail and common sense are key. Joy has been married to her husband Bryan for 28 years and is the mother of two children, Elizabeth (26) and Joseph (22).
